In another vote on a $1.5 million bond issue to pay for the new Riordan Pool, Ottawa City Commissioner James Less gave the only no vote. He didn’t balk at an agreement with the Ottawa YMCA to handle the pool chemicals and provide lifeguards. He voted for putting a more detailed version of it on file last night. But Less is still concerned about costs.
Mayor Dan Aussem says the city planned for a $100,000 per year loss before. As the city council works on the next budget, it could plan for around $150,000 per year.
The city has borrowed about $6.8 million altogether for the new pool.
