The Peru City Council recognized the Peru BB Club for their win against Oglesby during a Saturday shoot-off. Co-Director Gary Olson says it was a privilege working with the kids and parents this year because of their discipline, respect, and dedication.
Other Co-Director Bob Sczepaniak thanked the city council. This is his last year with the club.
The top shooting for Peru’s club got 296 out of 300 points during the shoot-off. The team also brought the trophy they won to the council meeting. It’s going to be renamed the Rudy Gandolfi trophy because of the work Rudy put into teaching BB gun shooting for sixty years before he died. Mayor Ken Kolowski said it’s more than shooting a BB gun, it’s about the sportsmanship and the teamwork.
