Someone died in an apartment fire on Ottawa’s south side this morning. Fire Chief Brian Bressner says a person found in a living room in a five-unit apartment building died at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital. The person’s name will not be announced until after his or her family has been notified. Bressner says the fire’s cause appears to be accidental. Fire fighters from the Naplate, Marseilles, Grand Ridge, Wallace, and Utica departments helped this morning.
