Dog park proposal tabled in Oglesby

By WCMY News Mar 7, 2023 | 7:20 AM

It doesn’t look like Oglesby will have a dog park before election day like Commissioner James Cullinan hoped. Cullinan had a proposal to fence off an area in the 100 block of 3rd St. for $11,000 ready for a vote last night, but the city council tabled it. No one on the city council is objecting to the city having a dog park, but some are doubtful about the location and Cullinan’s urge to get it done fast.

Commissioner Jason Curran told him to ask the park board. Cullinan says the park board didn’t come up with a location.

Mayor Rivara says Cullinan should talk to the area residents. Cullinan says he spoke to a few and they’re not concerned about it.

Cullinan and Curran are both running for mayor.
