Terrence Shannon Jr. hit a game-tying lay-up with 24 seconds left in the first OT, but he missed a potential game-winning free throw. In the second overtime, Matthew Mayer knocked down a go-ahead three in the first minute to put Illinois up for good. Mayer had 24 points in the victory. The 20-and-10 Illini visit number-five Purdue on Sunday.
