In Local Sports, in boys high school hoops action, tomorrow night Princeton will take on Taylor Ridge (Rockridge) with a spot into the Elite Eight on the line. Serena will take on Chicago St. Francis de Sales in the Sectional Championship.

>>Bulls Beat Pistons After Technical Foul

(Detroit, MI)  —  A late technical foul allowed the Bulls to edge the Pistons 117-115 in Detroit.  The Bulls led by two points with nine seconds left in regulation when the Pistons were called for an “excess timeout technical foul”, which gave Chicago a free throw and the ball.  Zach LaVine buried the tech, and DeMar DeRozan made his free throws on the ensuing possession to seal the win for the Bulls.  LaVine led all scorers with 41 points while DeRozan netted 21 of his own.  Chicago is now 11th in the East with a 29-and-34 record.  The Bulls host Phoenix tomorrow.

>>Blackhawks Host Stars

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Blackhawks begin a three-game home stand against the Dallas Stars at United Center tonight.  The Blackhawks are on a two-game losing streak following a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday.  Chicago is in last-place in the Central Division with 47 points and a 21-34-and-5 record.

>>Cubs Take Down Mariners

(Mesa, AZ)  —  The Cubs scored five times in the bottom of the fourth en route to a 5-3 win over the Seattle Mariners in Spring Training.  Former MVP Cody Bellinger had two hits in the victory.  Hayden Wesneski gave up just one hit in two scoreless innings.  Chicago is 2-and-4 in exhibition play.  The Cubs host Oakland today.

>>White Sox Fall To Guardians

(Glendale, AZ)  —  The White Sox gave up four runs in the seventh inning of a 9-6 loss to the Cleveland Guardians in Spring Training.  Davis Martin gave up two runs in two innings and was tagged with the loss.  The Southsiders dropped to 2-and-3 in exhibition play.  Lance Lynn takes the mound for the Sox against Colorado today.

>>Notre Dame Upsets Pitt

(South Bend, IN)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish knocked off number-25 Pitt 88-81 at Joyce Center yesterday.  The Irish took a 14 point lead at halftime after holding Pittsburgh to just 28 points.  Notre Dame never trailed in the second half.  Cormac Ryan and Marcus Hammond both scored 20 points in the victory.  The Fighting Irish are now 3-and-16 in the ACC and 11-and-19 overall.  They wrap up the regular season against Clemson on Saturday.

>>Northwestern Loses In Final Second

(Evanston, IL)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats are on a three-game losing streak following a 68-65 overtime loss to Penn State at Welsh Ryan Arena.  The Wildcats gave up a go-ahead three right before the buzzer, and Boo Buie missed a desperation heave as time expired.  Buie scored 20 points in the losing effort.  Northwestern dropped to 20-and-10 overall and 11-and-8 in the Big Ten.  The Wildcats visit Rutgers to wrap up the regular season on Sunday.

>>Illinois Hosts Michigan

(Champaign, IL)  —  The Illinois Fighting Illini will try to get back in the win column when they host Michigan at State Farm Center tonight.  The Illini are coming off a 72-60 loss against Ohio State on Sunday.  Illinois is tied for seventh-place in the Big Ten with a 10-and-8 conference record and a 19-and-10 mark overall.

>>College Basketball Roundup

(Undated)  —  In other college hoops action yesterday, DePaul was crushed by number-18 UConn 88-59.  Today, Illinois State goes up against Northern Iowa.
