Some Peru residents have some questions about parking at US Rt. 6 and Buffalo Rd. in front of the Westclox Building. City Engineer Eric Carls says some people are parking in the area between the first parking stall and the crosswalk. He says the city should paint the curb at the crosswalk and have the police department do regular checks. The city will continue to work with the businesses in the area to come up with a solution. He also talked about adding pedestrian warning signs at the intersection. It’s part of the city’s Rt. 6 water main plan proposal that was sent to the Illinois Department of Transportation earlier this month.
