Ottawa High School’s share of a huge settlement in a lawsuit over vaping product marketing is $32,000. Supt. Mike Cushing says after the attorneys and court system take their cuts, OHS will have around $20,000. It’ll come in over the next five years.

The Juul company was accused of deceptively marketing its vaping products and fueling an increase in nicotine addictions among teens. School districts like OHS say they had to deal with students using the products against the rules.

The Wall Street Journal reported the settlement is worth around $1.7 billion overall.
