Fire Chief wants to purchase new leaf vacuum for upcoming fall

Peru Fire Chief Jeff King wants the city to purchase a new leaf vac. He says one of the vacs the city uses for leaf pickup has stopped working while a second one is on its last leg. He says the $304,000 leaf vac truck would be a one-person operation instead of having six people working to pick up leaves for eight to nine weeks. King says he wants the city to purchase it by the next meeting so it can arrive by July. He also wants to purchase a new vac truck for $88,000.
