In Local Sports, tonight in high school girls hoops action the Serena Lady Huskers will take on  Champaign St. Thomas More with a state tournament bid on the line in the Class 1A Super-Sectional game. In other local sports, the Ottawa Dolphins swim team took 2nd at the Kishwaukee Y meet this past weekend. Winners for the Dolphins included, Ryland Heaver, Ethan Farabaugh, Jonathan Neu, Evelyn Andree, Bo Weitl,  Cole Bressendorf, Caden Brown, Tucker Ditchfield, Andrew Gritt, Dax Hawkins, Declan Hawkins, Nola Jabczynski, Finley Jobst, Dawsynn Kettman, and Kaiden Lemke.

>>Bulls Dominate Wizards For Second Straight Win

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Bulls have earned back-to-back wins following a 102-82 victory over the Wizards at United Center.  DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with 29 points while Zach LaVine added 27 of his own.  Nikola Vucevic logged a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds as Chicago improved to 28-and-33 on the season.  The Bulls are 11th in the Eastern Conference, and they visit Toronto tomorrow.

>>Blackhawks Take Down Sharks

(San Jose, CA)  —  The Blackhawks are on a five-game winning streak following a 4-3 shootout win over the San Jose Sharks.  Petr Mrazek had 45 saves in the victory, and he stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout.  David Gust, Brett Seney, and Max Domi all scored in the victory.  The Blackhawks remain in last place in the Central Division with 47 points and a 21-32-and-5 record.  Chicago visits Anaheim tonight.  In other news, the Blackhawks traded defenseman Jack Johnson to Colorado in exchange for blue-liner Andreas Englund.

>>Cubs Collapse Against Dodgers

(Glendale, AZ)  —  The Cubs gave up nine runs in the final three innings of a 9-4 Spring Training loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Glendale.  Javier Assad tossed two scoreless innings in his start, but Bailey Horn was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs in two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.  The Cubs are 1-and-1 in exhibition play, and they host Cleveland today.

>>White Sox Get Blanked By Angels

(Tempe, AZ)  —  The White Sox managed just five hits during a 7-0 loss to the Angels in Spring Training.  Tanner Banks gave up four runs in an inning-and-two-thirds to get tagged with the loss.  Top prospect Oscar Colas had two hits in the loss.  The White Sox are 0-and-2 in Spring Training, and they host the Mariners today.

 

>>Illinois Drops Game Against Ohio State

(Columbus, OH)  —  The Illinois Fighting Illini were taken down by Ohio State 72-60 at Value City Arena.  Coleman Hawkins scored 14 points in the losing effort.  Illinois fell to 19-and-10 overall and 10-and-8 in the Big Ten.  They host Michigan on Thursday night.

>>Northwestern Falls To Maryland

(College Park, MD)  —  The number-22 Northwestern Wildcats were upset by unranked Maryland in a 75-59 loss at Xfinity Center.  Chase Audige had 16 points in the loss.  The Wildcats dropped to 20-and-9 overall and 11-and-7 in the Big Ten.  They host Penn State on Wednesday.

>>Notre Dame Loses To Wake Forest

(Winston-Salem, NC)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish dropped their seventh-straight game with a 66-58 loss to Wake Forest at LJVM Coliseum on Saturday.   Van-Allen Lubin poured in 19 points in the losing effort.  Notre Dame is now 10-and-19 overall and 2-and-16 in the ACC.  The Irish host Pitt on Wednesday.

>>College Basketball Wrap-Up

(Undated)  —  In other college basketball action on Saturday, DePaul lost to number-nine Marquette 90-84, and Northern Illinois beat Central Michigan 84-80.  Yesterday, Bradley took down Drake 73-61, UIC was defeated by Southern Illinois 68-65, and Illinois State crushed Evansville 72-53.
