Ottawa Elementary School District finds interim Shepherd Middle School principal

Shepherd Middle School’s interim principal is a former principal in Peru. Lori Madden was picked to fill the position after the Ottawa Elementary School District approved a separation agreement with Candice Tennell. Madden says she was convinced to take the job by School Board Member Lori Kimes but also felt the need to take the job. She will stay for the rest of this school year as the district works to find a new principal for the 2023-24 school year. She was a principal at Washington Middle School in Oglesby before the new Parkside Middle School was built. She says she’s been enjoying the job since she started.
