In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Ottawa Pirates will hit the road to take on Dixon in the class 3A regional semi-final. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 with the broadcast beginning at 7:20. In girls high school hoops action last night Newark defeated Willows Academy 56-42 to advance to the sectional championship. Serena beat Hinckley-Big Rock 48-33 to advance to the sectional final. Jenna Setchell led with 19 and Paisley Twait added 12 for the Huskers. Serena and Newark will now meet Thursday in the sectional title game at Serena. In boys regional hoops action tonight, Serena meets up with Dwight, Hall plays Princeton, Streator faces off with Metamora, Lasalle-Peru will play Dunlap, Seneca hosts El Paso-Gridley, and Marquette plays St. Bede. 

>>Blackhawks Steal Two Points From Vegas

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Blackhawks scored a clutch third-period goal en route to a 3-2 shootout win over the Vegas Golden Knights at United Center.  Tyler Johnson lit the lamp for Chicago with under a minute left in regulation to send the game to OT.  Once the game reached the shootout, Petr Mrazek stopped all three shots he faced, while Johnson scored in the third round to steal the contest.  Cole Guttman also had a goal for Chicago.  The Blackhawks remain in last place in the Central Division with 43 points and a 19-32-and-5 record.  Chicago visits Dallas tonight.

>>Bulls Rule Out Lonzo Ball For Rest Of Season

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Bulls are ruling out point guard Lonzo Ball for the rest of the season.  Chicago announced the decision yesterday after Ball failed to play this season due to discomfort in his left knee.  Ball had undergone arthroscopic knee surgery before this season and was shut down last season after having another surgery on a torn meniscus.  The 25-year-old point guard continues to deal with pain when he runs, cuts or jumps.  Ball hasn’t played a game since January 14th, 2022.  

>>Notre Dame Hosts North Carolina

(South Bend, IN)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish aim to avoid a sixth-straight loss when they host North Carolina at Joyce Center tonight.  The Irish are coming off a 57-55 loss to number-six Virginia on Saturday.  Notre Dame is in 14th-place in the ACC with a 2-and-14 conference record and a 10-and-17 mark overall.  Tonight’s game tips off at 8:00PM Central time.

>>College Basketball Roundup  —  In college hoops action yesterday, Northern Illinois lost to Ohio 77-68.  Tonight, DePaul hosts Butler, Valparaiso has a home game against Bradley, and Illinois State visits Drake.
