Applications are available for the Habitat for Humanity of LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam County’s next home build. Executive Director Todd Volker says applicants have to show a need for the house and have an ability to repay a low interest affordable mortgage loan. He also says applicants have to participate in building the home.
Volker also says people who are successful the home is built really have a leg up in life.
The organization is hosting two informational sessions about the applications at the Restore in Peru next Saturday at 2pm and on Saturday, March 4th at 2pm in the Miller Community Center. Volker says the application is like applying for a mortgage and introducing it to people is a good idea. Applications are due Friday, April 14th.
