In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Ottawa Lady Pirates will take on Geneseo in the Regional Championship game at Kingman Gym. Tip is scheduled for 7 with the broadcast beginning at 6:50. In high school boys hoops, Putnam County beat St. Bede 58-51. In other local sports, the Shepherd 7th grade volleyball team beat Dwight and the 8th grade lost. Leaders for the 8th grade were Maddy Mcgrath with six points and Greysyn Carrier with five points. 

>>Blackhawks Struggle Against Maple Leafs

(Toronto)  —  The Blackhawks struggled once again north of the border as they fell to the Maple Leafs 5-2 in Toronto.  Chicago trailed nine seconds into the game after William Nylander scored for the Leafs.  Sam Lafferty netted a goal less than a minute later to tie the game, but Toronto lit the lamp two more times in the period and cruised to victory.  Philipp Kurashev also scored for Chicago, which dropped to 16-32-and-5 on the season.  The team has lost three straight games and wraps up its Canada trip tomorrow night against the Senators.

>>Pacers Rally From Huge Deficit To Beat Bulls

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Pacers staged a huge comeback and beat the Bulls 117-113 in Indianapolis.  Indy trailed by 24 points after the first quarter, but outscored Chicago over the next three quarters by 8, 12 and 8 points to complete the comeback victory.  Zach LaVine led all scorers with 35 points as the Bulls dropped to 26-and-32.  Chicago has now lost five in a row and is 11th in the conference.  The Bulls will try to snap the skid tonight when the Bucks come to town.

>>Bears Purchase Property In Arlington Park

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Bears are nearing a departure from their longtime home at Soldier Field.  The team is purchasing a 326-acre property in Arlington Park for 197.2-million dollars.  The Bears stated that the purchase “does not guarantee the development of the team’s plan for a domed stadium.”  They also said that there remains a “tremendous amount of due diligence” to be done in order to take the next step in the process.  The team has estimated that the development could create more than 48-thousand jobs and bring in 9.4-billion dollars to the Chicagoland economy.  The Bears have played at Soldier Field near the downtown Chicago area since 1971. 

>Northwestern Upsets Indiana

(Evanston, IL)  —  Northwestern upset Number-15 Indiana 64-62 at Welsh-Ryan Arena.  Boo Buie led the team with 21 points while Chase Audige netted 14 of his own.  The Wildcats improved to 19-and-7 and have won four games in a row.  Northwestern will host Iowa Sunday night.

(Undated)  —  In other college hoops action,Bradley edged Missouri State 64-54 and   Illinois State lost a close game to Murray State 76-75.
