St. Rep. Bradley Fritts says he completely supports the effort to expand funding for rural hospitals. He says some women in his district may have to travel more than an hour to get to a hospital where they can have their babies since the Peru hospital closed. Although Fritts commends Gov. Pritzker’s efforts in that area, he says he’s deeply concerned about a drastic decline in economic opportunity.
Fritts is among the Republicans saying something is wrong with increasing spending while revenue is expected to drop.
