While growing up, St. Rep. Jason Bunting of Emington, north east of Pontiac, says his family participated in an agricultural group or organization they were passionate about. That passion and wanting to give back are reasons why he wanted to become an Illinois state representative for the 106th Illinois House District. He says it’s important for farmers and small business owners to have their voices heard.
When he’s not in Springfield, Bunting and his family run a farm and several businesses. His farm grows corn and other crops. He also raises cows and sheep.
He was picked to represent the 106th district because former Rep. Thomas Bennett became a state senator when Sen. Jason Barickman retired. Bunting says he’s ready to represent the district as best as he can. His district covers parts of southern LaSalle County.
