By WCMY News Feb 13, 2023 | 5:28 AM

74 US House Representatives including Illinois 16th District Cong. Darin LaHood are urging the US Department of Health and Human Services to expand treatment for Alzheimer’s patients. The representatives sent the letter to Secretary Xavier Beccera and Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Chiquita Brooks-LaSure. The letter asks the departments to reconsider the Coverage with Evidence Development requirements for FDA-approved monoclonal antibodies that can treat the disease. That way people living with mild cognitive impairment can have immediate access to FDA-approved treatments.
