In Local Sports, last night right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Ottawa Lady Pirates defeated Rock Falls 38-30. Marlie Orlandi led with 23. Kendall Lowery and Hailey Larsen chipped in six apiece. In other high school girls hoops, Earlville crushed Lamoille 69-10, Serena beat Yorkville Christian 54-42, and the Marquette Lady Cru defeated St. Bede 53-27. Lily Craig scored 17 and Chloe Larson added 10 for the Cru. In local high school boys hoops, Streator beat Plano 58-42 and the Ottawa Pirates fell to Dunlap 69-62. Cooper Knoll led with 15 and Payton Knoll chipped in 14 for Ottawa.

(Brooklyn, NY) — The Bulls will try to get back in the win column when they visit the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center tonight. The Bulls lost to the Grizzlies 104-89 on Tuesday. The defeat snapped Chicago’s three-game winning streak. The Bulls are in ninth-place in the Eastern Conference with a 26-and-28 record. Tonight’s game tips off at 6:30PM.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were beaten at the buzzer in a 70-68 loss to Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion. Lance Terry had a game-winning put-back for Georgia Tech as time expired to give the Irish their sixth loss in their last seven games. Nate Laszewski led Notre Dame with 16 points in the losing effort. The Irish fell to 10-and-14 overall and 2-and-11 in the ACC. Notre Dame takes on Virginia Tech on Saturday.

(Columbus, OH) — The Northwestern Wildcats aim to avoid being swept by the Ohio State Buckeyes when the two teams play in Columbus tonight. The Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak with a 54-52 win over Wisconsin on Sunday. Northwestern is tied for fifth-place in the Big Ten with a 7-and-5 conference record and a 16-and-7 mark overall. Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00PM.
