In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Ottawa Lady Pirates will take on Rock Falls at Kingman Gym. Tip is scheduled for 7 with the broadcast beginning at 6:50. Last night on 1430 WCMY and  93.5 FM the Marquette Crusaders pulled out a win over Serena 62-60. Tommy Durdan led with 13. Logan Nelson and Griffin Walker chipped in 10 apiece. In other high school boys hoops, Seneca won over Streator 67-45, Earlville fell to Woodland 48-45, Princeton rolled St. Bede 84-48, and Morris defeated Lasalle-Peru 70-69 in overtime. In high school girls hoops, Seneca lost to Byron 61-35, Lasalle-Peru beat Rochelle 42-30, and the Ottawa Lady Pirates rolled Sandwich 59-39. 

>>Bulls Collapse In Fourth

(Memphis, TN)  —  The Bulls had a nightmarish fourth quarter during a 104-89 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.  The Bulls entered the final frame with a three-point lead before being outscored 32-14.  Nikola Vucevic poured in 28 points and had 17 boards in the victory.  DeMar DeRozan missed the contest with a hip injury.  The Bulls are in ninth-place in the Eastern Conference with a 26-and-28 record.  They visit Brooklyn tomorrow night.

>>Fighting Irish Visit Georgia Tech

(Atlanta, GA)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will try to end a cold stretch when they visit Georgia Tech in Atlanta tonight.  The Irish lost to Wake Forest 81-64 on Saturday.  It was their fifth loss in their last six games.  Notre Dame is in 13th place in the ACC with a 2-and-10 conference record and a 10-and-13 mark overall.  The Irish beat Georgia Tech 73-72 in overtime when the two teams played on January 10th.  Tonight’s game begins at 6:00PM Central time.

(Undated)  —  In college hoops action yesterday,  Northern Illinois fell to Ohio 82-76.  Tonight, DePaul visits Villanova, Illinois State welcomes Bradley, and UIC is at Southern Illinois.

>>Blackhawks Fall To Ducks

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Blackhawks began the second half of the NHL season with a 3-2 overtime loss against the Anaheim Ducks at United Center.  Frank Vatrano scored Anaheim’s game-winner in the third minute of overtime.  Seth Jones and Jason Dickinson each lit the lamp in the losing effort.  Chicago picked up a point but remains in last place in the Central Division with 35 points and a 15-29-and-5 record.  The Blackhawks host Arizona on Friday.

>>Wildcats To Return To Wrigley

(Evanston, IL)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats football team will play in one of the most iconic sports stadiums in the country once again.  The university and the Chicago Cubs announced yesterday that the Wildcats will host Iowa at Wrigley Field for the Wildcats Classic next season.  The Wildcats last played at Wrigley in 2021 when they took on Purdue.  Next season’s contest will take place on November 4th.
