A year-and-a-half since his arrest, 25-year old Shamario Brown of Plano pleaded guilty to charges from a police chase in LaSalle County. He’s taking a six-year prison sentence for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing and eluding. Prosecutors say he tossed away a bag and some guns while running from police in downtown Ottawa. That was after a car chase from the Grand Ridge area when sheriff’s deputies tried to pull him over. Brown crashed the car against a curb on Main St. north of Veterans Memorial Bridge. Police also found cannabis, but that wasn’t included in the plea deal he took today.
