$1.2 million requested to replace an HVAC system at the Circuit Breaker School in Peru almost didn’t happen. LaSalle County Board 9th District Rep. Ray Gatza asked the board Tuesday to table all applications for money from the American Rescue Plan because he received comments from constituents about how some of the ARPA money was given to different organizations. It was voted down 14-5. Board Member Brian Dose says otherwise it was a very productive meeting with several applications being approved. He says the board approved the $1.2 million for the school and a $67,000 project for the Utica Fire Department. It’s for a radio transmission line.

$110,000 was also given to the Mendota Fire Department for power load stretchers. But some other requests by Waltham Township and Deer Park Township was denied. There were other projects approved.
