A Streator man had charges against him approved by a LaSalle County grand jury Tuesday. 31-year old Jacob Thompson is charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly attack a Streator police officer with a knife in Central Park last week. The officer ended up shooting Thompson because he allegedly wouldn’t drop the knife. His next court date is set for February 9th. Court records also show that he paid the $5,000 needed for him to bond out of jail.
