In Local Sports, in high school girls hoops, Earlville won over Indian Creek 46-20, Streator fell to Manteno 43-29, Marquette lost to Roanoke-Benson 62-26, Hall beat Newman Central Catholic 37-27 and Serena defeated Newark 31-29. Jenna Setchell led with 10 and Paisley Twait added eight for the Huskers. In boys high school hoops, Serena rolled Depue 72-22 Carson Baker led with 15 and Tanner Faivre added 11 for Serena. In other local sports, the Ottawa Wrestling team fell to Seneca. Winners for the Pirates included Ivan Munoz, James Latila, Nico Stanfill, and Marek Duffy. 

>>Bulls Host Clippers

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Bulls tip-off a four-game home-stand with a game against the Los Angeles Clippers at United Center tonight.  Chicago is coming off a 128-109 rout of the Orlando Magic on Saturday.  The victory salvaged a 1-and-2 road trip.  Chicago is tenth-place in the Eastern Conference with a 23-and-26 record.

>>Illinois Takes On Nebraska

(Champaign, IL)  —  The Illinois Fighting Illini go for a regular season sweep of the Nebraska Cornhuskers at State Farm Center tonight.  Illinois beat the Huskers 76-50 in Lincoln on January 10th.  The Illini moved back into the top-25 in yesterday’s coaches poll.  They’re currently at number-25 after earning wins against Ohio State and Wisconsin last week.  Illinois enters tonight’s game with a 15-and-6 record overall and a 6-and-4 mark in the Big Ten. 

>>Northwestern Visits Iowa

(Iowa City, IA)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats will try to win their fourth game in a row when they visit the Iowa Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena tonight.  The Wildcats crushed the Minnesota Gophers 81-61 on Saturday to improve to 15-and-5 overall and 6-and-3 in the Big Ten Conference.

(Undated)  —   Tonight, DePaul hosts number-23 UConn, and Northern Illinois visits Western Michigan.

 

>>Blackhawks Legend Bobby Hull Dead At 84

(Undated)  —  Hockey legend Bobby Hull is dead at the age of 84.  Hull was a 12-time All-Star selection and he scored 610 goals in his career.  He spent most of career with the Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets before playing his last season with the Hartford Whalers.  Hull lifted the Stanley Cup once in his storied career with Chicago in 1961.  No cause of death was given.
