Ambulance services were told to stop taking patients to St. Margaret’s Health Peru yesterday ahead of the hospital’s closure tomorrow. The Utica Community Fire Protection District says its ambulance personnel will take people to the nearest hospital in a life-threatening emergency. Otherwise, the patient will get the choice of St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley, OSF St. Paul in Mendota, or OSF St. Elizabeth in Ottawa. Utica ambulance personnel will continue offering advanced life support services.
