In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Marquette Crusaders will take on Seneca in the championship game of the Tri-County Conference tournament. Tip is scheduled for 8 with the broadcast beginning at 7:50. In high school boys hoops action last night Lasalle-Peru beat Streator 61-46 and Morris fell to Providence Catholic 47-40.  In girls high school hoops, Streator lost to Coal City 48-26, Seneca beat Roanoke-Benson 48-43, Kewanee won over St. Bede 52-50. The Marquette Crusaders rolled Henry-Senachwine 43-18. Lily Craig led with 23 and Avery Durdan added 10 for the Cru. The Ottawa Lady Pirates won over Kaneland 52-33. Grace Carroll led with 19 and Marlie Orlandi chipped in with 13. In other local sports the LPO swim team fell to Byron. Winners for LPO included Jonathon Neu, Owen Phillips, Bo Weitl, and Andrew Gritt. 

>>Bulls Collapse In Final Quarter

(Charlotte, NC)  —  A rough fourth quarter doomed the Bulls in a 111-96 loss to the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center.  The Bulls entered the final frame up by two before being outscored 34-17 to end the game.  DeMar DeRozan scored 28 points in the losing effort, and Zach LaVine finished the night with 18.  The Bulls are in 11th-place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-and-26 record.  They visit the Magic tomorrow night.

>>Illinois Visits Wisconsin

(Madison, WI)  —  The Illinois Fighting Illini will try to get a winning streak going when they visit Wisconsin in Madison tomorrow.  The Illini are coming off a 69-60 win over Ohio State on Tuesday.  They’ve won five of their last six games, including a 79-69 victory over the Badgers earlier this month.  Illinois is 14-and-6 overall and 5-and-4 in the Big Ten.

 

>>Northwestern Hosts Minnesota

(Evanston, IL)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats go for their third win in a row when they host the Minnesota Gophers at Welsh-Ryan Arena tomorrow morning.  The Wildcats beat Nebraska 78-63 on Wednesday night to improve to 14-and-5 overall and 5-and-3 in Big Ten action. 

>>Fighting Irish Take On Louisville

(South Bend, IN)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish aim to avoid a fifth consecutive loss when they host Louisville at Joyce Center tomorrow.  The Irish were narrowly defeated by NC State 85-82 on Tuesday night.  Notre Dame is 9-and-12 overall and 1-and-9 in the ACC. 

>>College Basketball Roundup

(Undated)  —  In other college hoops action tomorrow, Northern Illinois is at home against Ball State, On Sunday, UIC hosts Bradley, and Illinois State welcomes Southern Illinois.

>>Blackhawks Crush Flames

(Calgary, AB)  —  The Blackhawks scored three second-period goals en route to a 5-1 win over the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome.  Boris Katchouk broke a 1-1 tie in the middle of the second to spark a run of four unanswered goals by Chicago.  Taylor Raddysh, Jason Dickinson, Sam Lafferty, and Connor Murphy also lit the lamp in the victory.  The Blackhawks remain in last place in the Central Division with 34 points and a 15-28-and-4 record.  Chicago visits Edmonton tomorrow night.
