Two groups will be inducted into the 2023 Ottawa High School Hall Of Fame Saturday. They are the 1983 high school music department at the 1984-85 varsity boys basketball team. The high school has a long history of award winning music programs, but the 1983 music department was able to get the first state championship in the school’s history. OTHS has since won 22 state titles. The school won twenty first place titles straight starting in 1997 until 2016. Team Capt. Scott Miller and Players Mark Setchell and Rick Hayne were picked for the state all-state team by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. The 84-85 varsity boys basketball team fished the season with a 23-6 record and was one of the final eight teams in the IHSA State Tournament that year.
