In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Marquette Crusaders will take on Roanoke-Benson in the semi-final of the Tri-County Conference tournament. Tip is scheduled for 7:30 with the broadcast beginning at 7:20. In high school boys hoops action, Earlville beat IMSA 55-54, Hall defeated Mendota 60-55, St. Bede fell to Newman Catholic 67-36, and Streator won over Wilmington 64-50. Christian Benning led with 28 and also scored his 1000th point for his Bulldog career. In high school girls hoops action, Streator pulled out a win over Flanagan-Cornell/Woodland 42-27, Lasalle-Peru won over Sandwich 43-40, Serena defeated Reed-Custer 32-27. Paisley Twait led with 12 and Jenna Setchell added 11. The Marquette Lady Cru lost to Newark 49-45. Avery Durdan led with 16 and Lily Craig chipped in with 14 for Marquette. 

>>Bulls Collapse In Loss To Pacers

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Bulls blew a 21-point lead during a 116-110 loss to the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.  Chicago was outscored 70-48 in the second half of the contest.  DeMar DeRozan led Chicago with 33 points in the losing effort, while Nikola Vucevic chipped in with 20.  The Bulls are in tenth-place in the Eastern Conference with a 22-and-25 record.  They visit the Hornets tomorrow night.

>>Illinois Takes Down Ohio State

(Champaign, IL)  —  The Illinois Fighting Illini remained hot with a 69-60 win over Ohio State at State Farm Center.  The victory is Illinois’ fifth in its last six games.  The Illini led by as many as 17 points in the second half of the win, and Terrence Shannon Jr. led the way with 17 points.  Illinois improved to 14-and-6 overall and 5-and-4 in the Big Ten.  The Illini are at Wisconsin on Saturday.

>>Notre Dame Falls To NC State

(Raleigh, NC)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are on a four-game losing streak following an 85-82 loss to NC State at PNC Arena.  The Irish were within reach throughout most of the game, but they trailed for most of the second half.  Cormac Ryan scored 19 points in the losing effort, and JJ Starling finished the game with 18.  Notre Dame is 9-and-12 overall and 1-and-9 in the ACC.  The Irish host Louisville on Saturday.

>>Northwestern Visits Nebraska

(Lincoln, NE)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats will try to get a winning streak going when they visit Nebraska in Lincoln tonight.  The Wildcats beat Wisconsin 66-63 on Monday to snap a two-game losing streak.  Northwestern is 13-and-5 overall and 4-and-3 in the Big Ten.

>>Blackhawks Lose To Canucks

(Vancouver, BC)  —  The Blackhawks gave up four unanswered goals to end a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.  Sam Lafferty scored in the middle of the second period to give Chicago a 2-1 lead before the Canucks went on their run.  Patrick Kane also lit the lamp in the losing effort.  Chicago remains in last place in the Central Division with 32 points and a 14-28-and-4 record.  The Blackhawks visit the Flames tomorrow night. 

>>White Sox SP Clevinger Under Investigation By MLB

(Chicago, IL)  —  White Sox starting pitcher Mike Clevinger is under investigation for allegedly violating Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy.  Clevinger is being accused of “several acts of domestic violence and child abuse.”  A woman named Olivia Finestead is claiming that Clevinger emotionally and physically abused his three children and their two mothers, including herself.  Finestead has been talking with MLB investigators since last summer, but she took to social media yesterday to mention her accusations.  The White Sox are refraining from commenting until MLB’s investigation has concluded.
