Camden Figgins led with 19 and Richie Armour chipped in 15. The Marquette Crusaders defeated Lowpoint-Washburn 75-42. Charlie Mullen led with 14, Tommy Durdan added 12 and Griffin Walker chipped in 10. Lasalle-Peru fell to Plano 51-44. The Ottawa Pirates lost to Morris 57-33. Levi Sheehan scored 11 and Payton Knoll added 6 for Ottawa.

(South Bend, IN) — The Notre Dame Fighting Irish got off to a slow start during an 84-71 loss to Florida State at Joyce Center. The Irish trailed by ten at halftime after Florida State began the game with a 32-8 run. Notre Dame was never able to get close in the second half. Marcus Hammond led the team with 19 points off the bench. The Irish dropped to 9-and-10 overall and 1-and-7 in the ACC. They host Boston College on Saturday.

(Undated) — In other college hoops action yesterday, Northern Illinois took down Miami of Ohio 81-77 and Southern Illinois beat Evansville 78-70. Today, Bradley visits Indiana State, and Illinois State is at Northern Iowa. Northwestern’s scheduled game against Iowa has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

(Chicago, IL) — The Blackhawks overcame a two-goal deficit in a 4-3 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres at United Center. Philipp Kurashev brought Chicago within a goal in the second minute of the third period, and Seth Jones tied the game with less than a minute left in regulation. Jones also knocked in the game-winner during the extra frame. Connor Murphy also lit the lamp in the victory. Chicago remains in last place in the Central Division with 28 points and a 12-26-and-4 record. The Blackhawks visit the Flyers tomorrow.

(Lake Forest, IL) — The Bears officially introduced their new team president to the media yesterday. Kevin Warren and chairman George McCaskey both answered questions during a press conference at Halas Hall yesterday. McCaskey told reporters that general manager Ryan Poles will now report directly to Warren. Meanwhile, Warren said that he will focus a lot of his energy in building a new stadium in Arlington Park. Warren was part of the leadership group that brought a new stadium to the Minnesota Vikings in 2016. Warren was hired to replace Ted Phillips last week.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Cubs are bringing in some bullpen help. The team claimed relief pitcher Julian Merryweather off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays yesterday. Merryweather went 0-and-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 26 games with the Blue Jays last season. The Cubs designated right-handed pitcher Manuel Rodriguez for assignment in a corresponding move.
