Ottawa Scouting Museum hosting historical lectures to raise money for museum addition

By WCMY News Jan 17, 2023 | 11:46 AM

Historical lecture series will be held at the Ottawa Historical and Scouting Heritage Museum this year. The first series is about Magnificent Mansions of the past in the North Bluff. It starts this Sunday at 2pm at the museum. Executive Director Mollie Perrot says she came up with the idea to raise money for the museum. The museum wants to add an addition to the north wing that will house an old fire truck and some more exhibits. There costs $5 to get into the lecture. But there is a discount for museum members and people who buy tickets for every lecture this year.

Other lectures will be done on one Sunday each month throughout the year and includes topics like the Radium Girls, William Reddick, and Ottawa’s history of glass making. You can go to the Ottawa Historical and Scouting Heritage Museum website to see a full list of lectures.
