The Oglesby Police Officer of the Year is Michael Rivara. He’s been with the department since August 2021.
Police Chief Doug Hayse told the City Council last night, the Officer of the Year is chosen by an awards committee. The committee ranks each officer by the work done, arrests made, and other award nominations received. Rivara got a plaque last night.
Presenting the award is one of the last acts Hayse did as police chief in Oglesby. He retires after today.
