Not so many bald eagles perch in the trees on Plum Island by Starved Rock Lock and Dam when the winter’s mild. Starved Rock State Park Natural Resources Coordinator Lisa Sons says some of the birds are still there. And there’ll be an Eagle Watch Weekend January 28th and 29th in any case.
Events will be at Starved Rock State Park’s Visitor Center, Starved Rock Lodge, and the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center. The three locations should make bird of prey shows and other events accessible to everyone.
