Weekly COVID report: Two more deaths, county moved back to low community spread level

The Centers for Disease Control has moved LaSalle County back down to the low community spread level for COVID-19. This is just after a week of being in the medium level. The LaSalle County Health Department reported this week that current cases fell to 1,070 which is down from 1,119 last week. Recoveries also outnumbered new cases this week. There were 130 new cases with 178 recoveries. But there was two additional death from coronavirus this week. A man in his 80’s and a woman in her 100’s succumbed to the virus. There have been 509 deaths from COVID in the county so far. There have been 36,295 total cases in the county with 35,224 recoveries so far.
