More people are taking more classes at Illinois Valley Community College and the Ottawa Center is a big draw for them. The college says credit hours are up 6.2% from a year ago. The head count is up 2%.
At just the Ottawa Center, credit hours boomed upward by 246%. IVCC says there was a significant course offering expansion. Spring 2022 figures were 163 credit hours there, compared to 565 this week.
President Jerry Corcoran says the figures should rise because high school dual credit hasn’t been counted yet and there are late start and second eight-week courses coming up.
