A new trial date has been set for the Peru woman accused in the courthouse scuffle at the Etna Rd. Courthouse in Ottawa in March of 2021. 31-year old Angel Farmer will be back in court on April 6th after her lawyer asked for more time to file motions. Her trial date is April 17th. Farmer is accused of battering a peace officer at the courthouse when she allegedly tried to bring her cell phone inside. Ms. Farmer contacted WCMY to give her side . She says that she was at the courthouse to turn in an officer complaint form for a battery that occurred on March 2nd. She claims that she was battered first by court security before she was charged and describes what happened to her as a kidnapping. She also claims that the staff at the courthouse mistreated her.

Her brother Jacob was found guilty by a jury back in June last year of being involved in the incident. He had to serve three weekends in the county jail.
