The LaSalle County Nursing Home and VAC committee believes a new van will benefit the LaSalle County Nursing Home. They voted 5-1 Monday to recommend purchasing the $56,000 van which will replace an older van that had a lot of maintenance done last year. Nursing Home Director Carrie Becker says she wants residents to be safe because the home uses older vehicles to take them to different places like OSF Hospital in Peoria for doctors’ appointments. Committee Member Mike Kasap, who voted no on getting the van, suggested that an older van the home already has should be examined first before a new one is purchased. It could take about six months to get.
