Weekly COVID update: County at Medium community spread level; child dies from coronavirus

LaSalle County is in the Medium community spread level of COVID-19 again according to the Centers for Disease Control. That means that people who are at high risk or know a high risk person are recommended to wear masks in indoor public places again. The LaSalle County Health Department says this week new cases were once again higher than recoveries after recoveries outnumbered new cases last week. There were 159 new cases and 153 recoveries. Current cases also went up to 1,119 this week. There was another death from coronavirus this week. A child succumbed to the virus making that person the 507th death from COVID so far. The health department also announced that that they have stopped breaking down the number of people who got COVID by their age. They didn’t give a reason why.
