Last night on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM Marquette fell to Yorkville Christian 83-80 in Overtime. Krew Bond led with 19 and Tommy Durdan added 16 for Marquette. In girls high school hoops, Seneca beat Midland 57-21, Reed-Custer rolled Streator 38-8, Somonauk defeated Earlville 60-36, Hall pulled out a win over Kewanee 39-32, and Lasalle-Peru won over Mendota 48-16. In other local sports, the Ottawa boy’s bowling team lost to Sycamore. Nelson Brandt led Ottawa with a 631 series and Evan Spencer added a 518 series.

The Bears announced earlier this week that Nathan Peterman will start for an injured Justin Fields in the season finale. Additionally, three other Bears players missed practice with injuries yesterday. The Bears have lost four of their last five games against Minnesota.

(Chicago, IL) — Seth Jones is heading back to the NHL All-Star Game. The Blackhawks blue-liner was selected to the event for the fifth time in his career yesterday. Jones has two goals and nine assists in 27 games for Chicago this season. The All-Star Game will take place at FLA Live Arena in Florida on February 4th. In the meantime, Jones and the Blackhawks are preparing for their home game against the Coyotes tonight.
