The in-person Penguin Plunge returns to the Ottawa area in a little over three weeks. Ashley White with Make a Wish says a few teams have registered already for the January 28th fundraiser at Skydive Chicago. They’ll jump into a treated pond. One of the teams is the family of a local boy who got a trip to the Disney resort in Florida courtesy of Make a Wish in October.
The goal is to raise $50,000 to grant wishes to seriously ill children. Volunteers, sponsors, and participants can go to illinois.wish.org to find out about many events in Illinois. The Penguin Plunge event is at this link. Inquiries can be emailed to communityevents@illinois.wish.org.
