A fire in the Somerset Apartments in Ottawa is blamed on a candle left burning in a bedroom. Fire Chief Brian Bressner says the fire went from the bedroom into the attic and through the roof. No one was hurt.
It started before one this morning and was under control within a half hour of the fire fighters getting there. Several fire departments and ambulances helped, coming from the Naplate, Wallace, Marseilles, Grand Ridge, Utica, and Streator districts. The Red Cross is helping people who need places to stay.
