In boys varsity basketball
Seneca stayed undefeated by winning at home over Newark 57-39. Paxton Giertz led the Irish with a game-high 18 points, while Calvin Maierhofer added 12 points. Jake Kruser led the Norsemen in the loss with 12 points.
The LP Cavaliers lost at home in double overtime to Sandwich 55-49.
Last night in Varsity Wrestling
The Ottawa team won at Mendota. Match winners for the Pirates were Nico Stanfill, Malachi Snyder, Marek Duffy, Sebastian Cabrera, Ryan Wlson, Charles Medrow and Alex Perez.
Streator also competed at Mendota, winners for the Bulldogs were Taylor Barbee, Jaylen Richardson, Andrew Warwick, Devin Thompson, Steve Goplin, Alex Lopez and Aydan Radke.
Seneca competed with Lisle and Kaneland in a triangular event in wrestling. Match winners for the Irish were Avery Phillips, Nick Grant, Nate Othon, Ryan Flynn, Chris Peura, Alex Bogne, Collin Wright and Sullivan Feldt.

The Chicago Bulls ended their four-game losing streak with a 113-103 win over the Miami Heat at FTX Arena. Nikola Vucevic led the way with 29 points and 12 rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan finished the game with 24 points. The Bulls visit the Atlanta Hawks tonight.
The Chicago Blackhawks will try to snap their seven-game losing streak when they host the Nashville Predators at United Center tonight. The Blackhawks are coming off a loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday. The Hawks are in last place in the Central Division with a 7-19-and-4 record.
