In Local Sports, tonight right here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM the Marquette Crusaders will take on the Dwight Trojans at Bader Gym.  Tip is set for 7 with the broadcast starting at about 6:50. In other boys hoops action tonight, the Ottawa Pirates will hit the road to take on Sycamore.  In girls high school hoops, the Serena Lady Huskers defeated Plano 52-46. Paisley Twait scored 21 and Jenna Setchell added 11. Seneca pulled out a win over Newark 61-58. Kennedy Hartwig had 29 for the Fighting Irish. The Ottawa Lady Pirates rolled Princeton 62-31. Marlie Orlandi scored 22 and Grace Carroll chipped in with 14 for the Lady Pirates.  In other local sports, the Ottawa wrestling team lost to Rochelle 45-28. Winners for the Pirates included Charles Medrow, Dallas Harmon, Ivan Munoz, Ryan Wilson and Nico Stanfill.

>>Fighting Illini Take On Alabama A&M

(Champaign, IL)  —  The number-19 Illinois Fighting Illini are back in action for the first time in a week when they host Alabama A&M at State Farm Center tomorrow.  The Illini are coming off a 74-59 loss to Penn State last Saturday.  Illinois is 7-and-3 overall and 0-and-2 in the Big Ten.  Tomorrow’s game tips off at 3:00PM.

>>Wildcats Basketball Hosts DePaul

(Evanston, IL)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats go for their third consecutive win when they host DePaul in a Chicago-land showdown at Welsh-Ryan Arena tomorrow.  Northwestern beat Prairie View A&M 61-51 on Sunday to improve to 7-and-2 overall, and the Wildcats are 1-and-0 in the Big Ten.  Tomorrow’s game gets underway at 1:00PM.

>>Notre Dame Basketball Plays Against Georgia

(Atlanta, GA)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to get back in the win column when they take on Georgia at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Sunday.  The Fighting Irish were defeated by Marquette last Sunday 79-64.  Notre Dame is 7-and-3 overall and 0-and-1 in the ACC.  Sunday’s game begins at 4:30PM Central time.

>>Bulls Host Knicks

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Bulls take on the New York Knicks for the second time in three days at the United Center tonight.  Chicago lost to New York in overtime 128-120 on Wednesday.  The Bulls are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with an 11-and-16 record.  Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00PM.

>>Fields Faces Hurts In Bears Game Against Eagles

(Chicago, IL)  —  Two of the hottest quarterbacks in the NFL square off when the Chicago Bears host the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field on Sunday.  Justin Fields has been phenomenal this season.  While the 3-and-10 Bears are on a six-game losing streak, Fields has done his job with 848 passing yards, eight touchdown passes, 541 rushing yards, and six touchdown runs during that stretch.  However, Chicago’s defense has struggled mightily, surrendering at least 27 points in each of those six contests.  Chicago has not won against Philadelphia since 2011.  Additionally, David Montgomery and Chase Claypool each missed practice with injuries yesterday.  Sunday’s game kicks off at noon.

>>Blackhawks Fall To Vegas

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Blackhawks extended their losing streak with a 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights at United Center.  The Blackhawks trailed 3-0 before Taylor Raddysh got them on the board with a goal late in the third period.  Chicago has lost its last five games to fall to 7-17-and-4.  The Blackhawks are in last place in the Central Division with 18 points.  They visit the Wild tonight.

>>Cubs Sign RP Boxberger

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Cubs are getting some help in their bullpen.  The club signed relief pitcher Brad Boxberger to a one-year contract worth two-million dollars.  The contract includes a five-million dollar mutual option for 2024 and an 800-thousand dollar buyout.  The former All-Star went 4-and-3 with a 2.95 ERA and one save in 70 games with the Brewers last season.
