Streator council to reconsider TIF request for Arby’s

By WCMY News Dec 15, 2022 | 4:45 AM

Before an Arby’s restaurant is built where the Gautschy’s Corner gas station used to be, the developer needs the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s approval. IEPA wants oil contamination from long ago removed or capped. Brett Paul with Streator Equity Group says $30,000 from a Streator tax increment financing fund will help resolve everything faster so the site generates tax revenue again.

After rejecting the request last month, the City Council will consider it again. It’s expected to be on the council’s agenda next week.
