Semi-automatic weapons, ammunition, and body armor were allegedly found in a Rutland home by LaSalle County and Woodford County Sheriff’s Sunday during a search warrant. LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss says on Saturday, 42-year old David Allen Mays of Rutland was arrested in Woodford County and charged with possession of meth, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a defaced firearm. Mays had served nineteen years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting an 18-year old man in the head back in 2002. During a search of Mays’ Rutland home, Diss says an AKS rifle, AR-15, rifle, bullets, and body armor were allegedly found. Mays is being held in the Woodford County Jail on a one million dollar bond. Charges in LaSalle County are pending after the search warrant.
