Candidates for school boards, city councils, and other local governments can start filing their petitions Monday. LaSalle County Clerk Jennifer Ebner says make sure you know how many signatures you need and get a few more. A signature can be ruled invalid for many reasons including the person signing not being a registered voter, living in another district, or signing someone else’s name.
Most of the candidates will file with the district offices. School board candidates will file with the county clerk. Ebner’s office will be open from 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday next week and 8am to 5pm Monday, December 19th.
