Samantha Ann Bailey, 79 of Streator passed away on Saturday, (December 3, 2022) at Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon on December 17th at the Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.
Samantha was born on January 6, 1943, in Streator to Lloyd Basil and Edna Marie (Benton) McClenning.
Samantha attended Craft Grade School of Kangley, Streator Township High School, and courses at Illinois Valley Community College. She serves in the U.S. Army in 1968. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass for 7 years, Thatcher Glass for 22 years, and Caterpillar for 15 years. Her hobbies were crocheting Afghans and various yarn work, oil painting, writing poetry and 2 children’s stories. She wrote 15 different songs that were demoed. She helped a variety of charitable organizations and group=Animal shelters like Seneca Animal Shelter, ASPCA, and IVAR. She also donated to Operation Smile, tornado and flood victims, St. Labre Indian School, St Jude’s Ranch, and St. Joseph’s Indian School.
She is survived by her sister, Mary McClenning of Oglesby, her 3 sons, Robert (Diane) Webber Jr. of Helena, MT, John (June) Webber of Round Lake, IL and Brian (Silva) Webber of Round Lake Beach, IL, 5 grandchildren, Dustin, Robert III, and Michael Webber, Ashley Canty, and Alayna Moews; 5 great-grandchildren, Raelynn Webber, Benjamin, Molly and Theo Canty, Jackson Webber, and Charlotte Moews; also many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; Sylvia, Dorothy, Sybil, and Linda, her brothers; Carl, Floyd, Lloyd, Roy and Henry as well as a few nieces and nephews.
