Bob McGrath, best known for his role as Bob on Sesame Street, died Sunday. His family announced on Facebook that he was at home with family and died peacefully. McGrath was 90.
He was a Marquette High School graduate in the class of 1950. Before his role on Sesame Street, McGrath sang on several TV and radio shows and performed with several orchestras.
Although his career took him away from Ottawa, he’s well remembered in his hometown. McGrath’s is one of the faces seen on the Sesame Street mural on Jefferson School.
