American Farm Bureau Federation Economic Specialist Veronica Nigh says Thanksgiving dinner is going to cost even more this year. Overall feeding ten people will cost about $64. That’s up by about $10 compared to last year.
But in Illinois, it will cost a family about $65 for a Thanksgiving dinner. Nigh says one of the biggest price increases is in processed foods because companies are having a hard time getting packaging.
For example she says a box of stuffing mix is up 69% compared to last year. The cost for a turkey has also gone up from $1.50 per pound to $1.81 per pound.
