Some Seneca High School basketball players were practicing at 6am last week. Supt. Dan Stecken says that’ll change when a new gym is built and there’s room for all the school’s athletes to practice in the afternoon.
The school board last week approved $11.8 million in contracts for a new gym. Construction will start in the spring. It’s supposed to take less than a year to finish, so a spring 2024 opening date is expected.
