In Local Sports, in High School Girls Hoops the Serena Lady Huskers defeated Dwight 57-34 on Saturday. Jenna Setchell led the way with 21 points. Makayla McNally added 13 points and seven rebounds as well. Seneca fell to Fieldcrest 65-42 on Saturday in the Championship of the Falcon-Irish tournament. The Marquette Lady Cru fell to Herscher 50-24 on Saturday. Lily Craig led the way for Marquette with 11 points and Avery Durdan added 10 rebounds. Earlville defeated IMSA 44-24 on Saturday. Madyson Olsen led the way with 19 points and Navaeh Sansone added 17 points in the victory. The Ottawa Lady Pirates defeated East Peoria 63-23. Marlie Orlandi led the way with 13 points. Grace Carroll and Hailey Larsen both added 11 points each in the winning effort. High school boys hoops will kick off tonight. At the Dean Riley Shootin’ The Rock tournament. Lasalle-Peru and Oak Forest will tip off at 5. The Ottawa Pirates will play Marengo at 6:30 and you can hear that game here on 1430 WCMY and 93.5 FM. Then to wrap up the night Streator will face Princeton.

 

>>Bears Fall To Falcons

(Atlanta, GA)  —  The Bears dropped their fourth straight game.  Chicago fell to the Falcons 27-24 in Atlanta.  Justin Fields rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, while throwing for 153 yards and a score.  David Montgomery also rushed a score, which tied the game at 24-all midway through the fourth quarter.  The Bears weren’t able to score again as they dropped to 3-and-8.  Chicago visits the New York Jets in Week 12. 

 

>>Bulls Host Celtics Tonight

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Bulls are getting another shot to end their losing skid.  Chicago hosts the Boston Celtics tonight at the United Center.  The Bulls come off a one-point loss to the Magic and have lost four straight games.  DeMar DeRozan dropped 41 points in the loss to Orlando.   Chicago sits at 6-and-10, while Boston comes in at 13-and-3. 

 

>>Blackhawks Lose To Penguins

(Boston, MA)  —  The Blackhawks suffered a fourth straight loss.  Chicago lost to the Penguins 5-3 at the United Center.   Jujhar Khaira, Patrick Kane and Philipp Kurashev all lit the lamp in the loss.  Chicago fell to 6-9-and-3 and has 15 points on the season.  The Blackhawks visit the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night. 

 

>>College Football Wrap-Up

(Undated)  —  Illinois nearly pulled off the upset over the weekend.  The Fighting Illini lost to third-ranked Michigan 19-17 on Saturday in Ann Arbor.  Illinois wasn’t able to hold a 17-10 lead in the fourth quarter as it dropped to 7-and-4.  Northwestern suffered a 10th straight loss after falling 17-9 to Purdue in West Lafayette.  The Fighting Irish cruised to their fifth straight victory.  18th-ranked Notre Dame crushed Boston College 44-0 at home. 

 

>>College Basketball Round Up

(Undated)  —  In local college basketball action yesterday, 20th-ranked Illinois lost to Number-14 Virginia 70-61 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.  The Fighting Illini dropped to 4-and-1 on the season.  Illinois State takes on LSU this morning as part of the Cayman Islands Classic in George Town.  Northern Illinois plays Sam Houston tomorrow morning in the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Florida.  Notre Dame hosts Bowling Green tomorrow night in South Bend.
