In Local Sports, on Monday the Shepherd 7th Grade Lady Rams defeated Minooka in Overtime 21-15. Kennedy Kane had 15 points Chloe Thrush had 4 points. The 8th Grade Lady Rams suffered their first loss of the season to Minooka 34-20.  Ashlynn Ganiere had 14 points. In other grade school basketball action the Marquette Academy 8th grade team defeated Seneca 39-17. They were led by Morgan Collins who scored 17 points. Anna Hjerpe added 10 of her own. In high school girls basketball , at the Falcon-Irish Tournament Hall defeated Seneca 31-25, Kennedy Hartwig paced Seneca with 14 points. The Serena Lady Huskers fell to Herscher 46-44 in overtime. Makayla McNally led the way for the Huskers with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Gwynth O’connell added 12 points as well. At the IMSA tournament Earlville defeated Indian Creek 55-38. At the Somonauk tournament the Lasalle-Peru Cavaliers fell to Newark 42-40.  At the Falcon-Irish Tournament the Marquette Lady Cru were victorious over Dwight 52-36. The Crusaders were paced by Avery Durdan who scored 17 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Lily Craig added 16 points and six rebounds as well. Princeton defeated Streator 57-33 in the Princeton tournament. Erie-Prophetstown also defeated St. Bede 40-22 at the Princeton Tournament. At the Prairie Central tournament, Ottawa defeated the host Prairie Central 61-31 last night. Marlie Orlandi led the way for the Pirated with 18 points and five steals, Grace Carroll added 11 points and seven assists for the Lady Pirates.

>>Bulls Visit Pelicans

(New Orleans, LA)  —  The Chicago Bulls try to end a two-game losing streak when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans at Smoothie King Center tonight.  The Bulls are 6-and-8 after losing to the Nuggets 126-103 on Sunday.  Chicago is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference.  The Bulls have played the Pelicans once this season, a 115-111 loss last Wednesday.  Tonight’s game gets underway at 7:00 PM. 

>>Blackhawks Host Blues

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Blackhawks look to get back in the win column against the St. Louis Blues at United Center tonight.  The Blackhawks lost to the Hurricanes 3-0 on Monday to fall to 6-6-and-3.  Chicago hasn’t played St. Louis in a regular season game yet this season, but the team lost twice to the Blues this preseason.  Tonight’s contest starts at 6:30 PM. 

>>Northwestern Basketball Takes Down Georgetown

(Washington, DC)  —  The Northwestern Wildcats remain undefeated following a 75-63 win over Georgetown at Capital One Arena.  Northwestern trailed by four at the half, but the Wildcats outscored the Hoyas 42-28 in the second half.  Northwestern improved to 3-and-0.  The Wildcats host Purdue-Fort Wayne on Friday. 

>>Fighting Irish Basketball Takes On Southern Indiana

(South Bend, IN)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish go for their third win in a row when they host Southern Indiana in the Gotham Classic at Joyce Center tonight.  The Irish beat Youngstown State 88-81 on Sunday to improve to 2-and-0 on the season.  Tonight’s game tips off at 7:00 PM Central time.

(Undated)  —  In other college basketball action last night, Bradley crushed Eastern Michigan 89-61.   

>>Fighting Irish Jump Two Spots In CFP Poll

(Undated)  —  The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are climbing the ladder in the latest College Football Playoff rankings.  Notre Dame went up two spots to number-18 following a 35-32 win over Navy this past Saturday.  The Fighting Irish go up against Boston College this weekend.  Meanwhile, the Illinois Fighting Illini dropped out of the top-25 following their 31-24 loss to Purdue.

>>Bears Place RB Herbert On Injured Reserve

(Lake Forest, IL)  —  The Bears running game is taking a hit for the next few weeks.  Second-string running back Khalil Herbert was placed on injured reserve yesterday.  Herbert suffered a hip injury during Chicago’s loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, and he will have to miss the Bears’ next four games.  Herbert has 643 rushing yards and five total touchdowns this season.  

>>Cubs Make Trade With Rays

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago Cubs are active to begin the offseason.  The team traded for utility player Miles Mastrobuoni from the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday.  The Cubs sent minor league pitcher Alfredo Zarraga to St. Petersburg to complete the trade. In other team news, catcher Willson Contreras rejected his qualifying offer from the Cubs, making him a free agent  Additionally, Chicago added prospects Kevin Alcantara, Ben Brown, Brennen Davis, and Ryan Jensen to its 40-man roster yesterday. 

>>White Sox Add Two To 40-Man

(Chicago, IL)  —  The Chicago White Sox are protecting a pair of prospects from the Rule 5 Draft by placing them on their 40-man roster.  The team added infielders Jose Rodriguez and Bryan Ramos to its 40-man yesterday.  Ramos is the number-five prospect in the White Sox organization, and Rodriguez checks in at number-seven.  The Rule 5 Draft will take place on December 7th.
